    who I am....

I always have some difficulty when it comes to defining myself in words.  First of all I am Pagan, or I would not be here.  I consider myself fairly new to Paganism tho I have been interested in it in a vague sense for as long as I can remember.(If that makes any sense)  My first real contact with Paganism took place when my daughter and I went to Pagan Hands Across America in Fargo North Dakota manyyyyyy years ago.   It was at that point that it hit me...this is me.  I feel comfortable with this.  I am at home!  I grew up in a southern baptist family but it never felt "right".  I knew I had some natural abilities but suppressed them for so many years because I was taught they were "wrong" and only witches know those things!  Looking back on it now, I find it funny and true!  Only witches know those things and I am proud to call myself a witch.  (to clarify, that is witch, not bitch!)

I just turned 56 in January.  I have two kids out on their own now.  A son 22 and a daughter who just turned 21 (she is also Pagan) as I am hoping my first grand daughter (who is due in July ) will be.  I was born and raised in Southern Illinois tho I lived a few years in Texas and several years in North Dakota.  For the most part, I raised my kids as a single mother.  I went to college while the kids were in school. I actually did that twice!  I got married right out of high school, but didn't have the kids until much later in life.  The marriage fell apart due to alcoholism (not mine) and I actually survived raising two teenagers by myself!  Anyway, enuff said!  Now I want to learn and live as much of my Paganism as I can!

Merry meet, and welcome to Covenspace.! :-)

If you're interested in finding other Pagans in your area, have you tried the Witches of the World section over at Witchvox?

    www.witchvox.com/xvn.html

You can use the pull-down menus on the left to find individuals, groups, shops, and events in your area. I find it quite useful myself.

Blessed be to you, and best of luck on your path.
